A normal conversation with my 2 year old

Abby: Mommy can I have this special treat (holds up a capri sun)
Me: You may have it with your lunch
Me: What would you like? A pb&j?
Abby: No thank you, a salad. With avocado and _____

I have no idea what she said so I open up the fridge and she points to the pomegranate seeds

Me: Would you like pomegranate seeds?
Abby: Yes please
Me: How about feta cheese?
Abby: I didn't want it last night but I do today
Me: What kind of dressing?
Abby: That one! (as she points to the dressing she always asks for, catalina)

I am pretty sure two year olds don't usually ask for gourmet salads for lunch lol.
I love being a mommy!

New Year, New ME!

For the month of January I will be attempting, no, COMPLETING a month of eating vegetarian. I am not just giving up meat, but sugar, pasta and pretty much everything else that I love. Beware, I will be quite bitchy for the second and third week. The first week won't be too bad and I hope by the fourth week my body will be use to most of this, but those two middle weeks will be HARD.
I expect cooking meat for my daughter will make it a little harder but thankfully she loves salad (she prefers it over almost everything). So here we go, starting off January 1st, 2011 with a bowl of fruit and oatmeal :). Wish me luck and a loss of 50 pounds

potty time

Once again I have lost my husband to the Navy. Chris is off to Virginia for a two week school on how to be a Nuke Chief. I dropped him off at the airport last night and like always it sucked but I do get to talk to him on the phone/skype and that is a perk I am not use to. Now I just have to get use to being a "single parent" again, only this time a single parent who is starting to potty train. So far so good, when D1 isn't wearing her diaper she uses the potty without any problems. However, I just don't trust her while we are not home.

This evening she poo pooed in the potty (woohoo!! Pooping is always the hardest) but she would not flush the toilet! She was so upset that the poo poo made the toilet dirty she couldn't flush (i don't really understand but two year olds have their own logic, if you can call it that). So of course I wasn't going to just let it sit there and I flushed it. You would have thought I flushed her favorite baby down with the "poo poo"! She freaked out!! Then proceeded to sit back down on the toilet and try to poo again! What? I am pretty sure that I will NEVER understand my daughter! But I am sure she will feel the same way about me very soon.

On a less confusing but equally disturbing note I took a picture of abby and her first poo poo in the big girl potty, but don't worry, I won't post it. It is just one of those things that I had to do. Yes, I fully acknowledge that I am THAT parent and I think that my little girls poo pooing in the potty is so cute but I am also aware that others (who are not papa and tutu) will think its pretty gross.

So now I am off to put D1 to bed and happy that D2 put herself to sleep tonight. I hope this post pleases my one reader for it is significantly longer than my last post.

Orders

As of today Chief Chris will be reporting to the USS Charlotte but things could (and God willing, will) change soon... waiting.
